Science of Human Connection class a new core course at NYU

The Science of Human Connection course is an introduction to this emerging field and its promise for advancing solutions to the crisis of connection. The science of human connection incorporates a wide range of disciplines including developmental and social psychology, neuroscience, primatology, and the health sciences to reveal: 1) the social and emotional nature of humans; 2) how particular cultural values and beliefs (e.g., stereotypes, the privileging of the self over relationships) disrupt our social and emotional capacities and needs and lead to a crisis of connection and; 3) the implications of the science for addressing the crisis. The course has been approved as a core social science course for undergraduates at NYU.
